Fixed-Price Workshop Repairs and Servicing

We offer a cost effective way to get your computer up and running properly without having to pay a potentially expensive call-out bill.

Based in Sling, near Coleford, our friendly fixed-price workshop repair service ensures there are no nasty surprises to frighten you and your wallet when the job is done, as the price you see is the price you pay, regardless of how long the job takes.

If your computer won't start properly, if you have a virus, trojan or spyware problem, or maybe your computer is simply running in slow motion – then our fixed-price service is ideal for you.

Our 20-point “PC MOT, Service and Tune-Up” is one of our most popular offerings, and is the ideal way to get your computer running like new again, if not even better!

For a fixed price of just £47 inc VAT, we perform as standard:

Cleaning and dusting the fans and internal components.
Internal inspection of motherboard and internal components.
Check BIOS settings and update and correct if required.
Check power supply unit, if required, for safety and correct voltages.
Check all cables and connectors, and repair or replace if required.
Recommend the best and least expensive upgrade to maximize your system, if required.
Check internet security is up to date and configured correctly, and install free antispyware and trojan removal software.
Check for viruses and spyware (if found, removal is £20 +VAT extra).
Remove temporary and unnecessary files that are cluttering your hard disk.
De-fragment hard disk and optimize and rearrange data if needed.
Remove unnecessary programs and start-ups that are slowing your system.
Remove annoying pop-ups and advertisements.
Check network settings for any problems and correct and optimize if required.
Check device drivers installed correctly and up to date.
Detect registry and operating system problems and correct if required.
Ensure all Microsoft service packs and updates are all properly installed and up to date.
Install updates to programs such as Adobe Reader, Flash Player and Java, if required.
Find a solution for any software glitches you may have.
External clean and polish of case and, for laptops, screen and keyboard.
Make the customer aware of the importance of data backups, and advise on any potential software or hardware problems that may be likely in the foreseeable future.

We can perform repairs, servicing and upgrades usually within a day or two of your machine arriving at our workshop, although we will advise if the job may take slightly longer due to busy workloads. Often small repairs can be carried out while you wait.

If any parts are required for repairs or upgrading, these can usually be ordered for next day delivery, and often common parts are kept in stock for same-day repairs.

Please note the fixed-price does not include parts, and any additional cost will be discussed fully with you before the repair takes place.

Our workshop is situated in Sling, but we also have a drop-off point in Cinderford outside office hours by arrangement.

We also offer a collection and delivery service for a small fee, and can also reconnect your computer and spend time answering questions at your premises, again for a reasonable additional fee.

We would of course be happy to carry out any of the above work in your home or office if it suits you better, but the fixed-price plan only applies to workshop-based services.

For problems involving broadband, networking or printers and scanners, then you would need our home or business call-out service.
