Computer Service Agreement for Business Computers
If you are at all reliant on your computers for business, then you should strongly consider taking a Computer Service Agreement. This is a fairly new concept that is increasingly being used in the area of computer maintenance for small businesses. The agreement is designed to address the problems associated with the lack of periodic maintenance and upkeep of security software, without the expense involved in employing a full-time IT department.
“WHY WOULD I NEED A SERVICE AGREEMENT?”
Quite simply, a malfunctioning computer system erodes your profits. Many computers we attend to are found to be operating without up to date security software, and have never had any periodic maintenance. In fact, many of them are limping along in slow motion, which can be both frustrating and unproductive.
Being permanently connected to the internet creates more problems. Broadband has become a necessity for small businesses – more and more business is conducted via emails and through online purchasing and banking. Unfortunately, the increase in internet traffic brings the increased threat of “cybercriminals” – individuals out to steal your information - and money – often without you ever knowing about it until it’s too late. A periodic service will ensure your computer always has the latest and most efficient virus, trojan and spyware removal tools, and that any potential threats are kept at bay.
With regular servicing you will avoid the risk of not having a proper backup system in place – a very common scenario - and the potential dangers from the installation of unauthorized software by office workers will be addressed. Spam or unwanted email is another common time waster, and this can be effectively reduced, or even eliminated completely in some cases.
With a service agreement in place your computers get the regular attention they need to keep your business running smoothly, and in addition, you have someone to call if you have a problem, need help with installing a new piece of hardware of software, or wish to make changes to your network system. You will have someone to talk to even if you just need some advice, no matter how trivial it may seem. It would be a bit like having your own part-time IT department taking the guesswork away from you and your staff.
