This includes disabling or removal of non-essential start-up programs, services and applications; removal of junk trial programs; removal of temporary files and tracking cookies; de-fragment drive and file optimization; free antispyware and free antivirus (if required); and internal clean and inspection (external clean only for laptops).

Virus, trojan and spyware removal - includes standard clean-up as above, plus free antispyware and free antivirus software,
or ESET NOD32 antivirus at £27.50 extra (strongly recommended - read why here).

Other component upgrade - such as audio card, graphics card or DVD Rewriter, fitted and tested.

Hard drive upgrade - clone data from old drive to new drive.

Non–starting PC - fault finding and repair - includes standard clean-up as above.
£60  (or £80 if virus or trojan infection is the cause, or £120 if complete re-format and installation required – see below).

Old PC to New PC transfer and set-up, or re-format and re-install Windows on existing computer.
Includes full backup of all pictures, music, emails, documents and data from old computer; full format and installation of Windows; download and install latest drivers; installation of latest service packs and security patches; installation of essential software for office, productivity, music and CD/DVD creation; install antivirus and security software; install any third-party software as supplied by customer; and transfer of documents and settings back to new computer.
Includes tune-up and optimization of start-up applications as above.
The new computer will be set up as closely as possible to the existing one, and you will not lose any emails or documents.
Others may offer this service cheaper – but PC Rescue offers full attention to detail - this process can take up to eight hours!

Prices apply to routine procedures and do not include the cost of any new parts or commercial software. If new components are required, then PC Rescue will contact you before proceeding and give a clear indication of any additional cost involved. Should you wish not to go ahead with repairs, a £15 inspection fee will be charged.

When bringing in a PC for repair, Windows installation and driver CDs are usually not essential as we keep a collection of these, but it would help greatly to speed up the repair if you can supply them.

A legal Windows COA (hologram licence key sticker) MUST be attached to the computer. If a computer is found to have an unlicensed copy of Windows, or no licence key is attached to the computer, then the technician will refuse to carry out repairs.
Genuine Windows licences are available, if required, at extra cost – the technician will discuss your options with you in greater detail.

Please do not bring any cables, mice or keyboards with the tower system, unless you suspect these items to be a contributing cause of the problem. Laptops MUST be supplied with the charger!
